Badminton Railway Station - Opened on 1st July 1903. Closed to goods on 1st November 1966 and passengers on 3rd June 1968. It is 100 miles and 1 chain from Paddington. It served the villages of Badminton and Acton Turville. This Railway Station, many times over the years, played host to Royalty visiting Badminton House. A covenant was agreed between the Great Western Railway and the Duke of Beaufort, which demanded that all trains should halt here, should a first class passenger wish to alight.
