The original Windsor and Annapolis Railwal (W&A) crossing (circa 1868) was a wooden covered bridge that was replaced in the early 20th century by the present iron railway bridge. The W&A merged into the Dominion Atlantic Railway (DAR), a subsidiary of Canadian Pacific Railway, and operated until 1990. Now this bridge is part of the Rails To Trails and is used by hikers and off road vehicles, maintained by the Nova Scotia Off Highway Vehicle Infastructure Fund. There is a bench for your sitting pleasure as you enjoy the scenic Annapolis River. Short hike from Queen St. or Riverside Dr. Bring your own writing stick.
