Geocache Description:

This is my first hide! Cache is at the back of Blue Cut Nature Trail. You're looking for a airtight container that has tradeables, a pen and a log. Happy hiking! Theres a short trail south off of the main loop, that leads to train tracks. You might hear a train while here.

The crushed stones that you see around train tracks are known as ballast. The ballast holds the wooden cross ties in place to keep the rails in place.

"Richard Trevithick and Andrew Vivian received a patent for the first steam locomotive in 1802. 2 years later On February 21, 1804 the first unnamed machine(Train) was placed into service on the Penydarren Ironworks Tramway in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales" United Kingdom.
