Joensuun pääkirjasto on toiminut nykyisellä paikallaan vuodesta 1992. Kirjasto on tätä ennen pitänyt majapaikkaa mm Joensuun kaupungintalolla ja Rantakadulla konservatorion rakennuksessa. Kirjastoa remontoitiin laajasti lasten ja nuortenosaston osalta 2020-2021 välisenä aikana jolloin osasto uudistui täysin vastaamaan nykyaikaa. Ensimmäiseltä pisteeltä saat vihjeen loppupurkille. The Joensuu City Hall Library has been operating in its current location since 1992. Prior to that, the library is located in the conservatory building of the Joensuu City Hall and Rantakatu, which is located on the site. The library was extensively renovated with regard to the children's ward department outside 2020-2021, when the department was completely renovated to meet modern times.
