This geocache was placed during the Georgia Geocaching Puzzle Society event in March 2022. This month, we learned about Polygraphic ciphers and Polyalphabetic ciphers. Seven teams were formed and each team received a piece of a cipher.
Team FUCHSIA got SXBQ
Team AZURE got GLHH
Team RUBY got JDUGC
Team BUBBLEGUM got HYCK
Team VIRIDIAN got QIFMB
Team BLUSH got CHGG
Team PUMPKIN got WKRMA
All the teams had the visionary mindset to choose the correct cipher and each solved their portion using their own keyword. Then they realized they were only halfway to the coordinates. The teams quickly got things in order and started to work on the second layer of this puzzle. Teamwork was key in the beginning of this final bit but, rather than just repeating the same old thing, the now united teams finished things up in grand style. It would have been a perfect event if Puzzler hadn't lost the keys to The Waysiders auto.
The group then took their result, filled in the blanks: N 33° 4 __ . __ __ __ W 84 3 __ . __ __ __ and found the first stage of the physical geocache. That's when they discovered there was even more book learning required!
