Despite knowing about Geocaching for a number of years, it wasn't until March 2012 that I finally bought myself a Smartphone and downloaded the Geocaching App.
Armed with my new phone and app, the first cache I found was Scrabo View on Sunday 04/03/2012.
The cache was a magnetic nano hidden behind an information board at Ballyreagh Lay-by on the shores of Strangford Lough.
I couldn't believe the size of the container, it was tiny but placed at a beautiful spot overlooking Scrabo Tower and Strangford Lough. My Found It log read:-
Easy find and indeed my first ever Geocache find. Log is quite damp so unable to write details of my conquest on it. Found it at sunset, beautiful view over towards Scrabo Tower. Thank you.

And that was it, I was hooked and alas, a new cacher was born.
The cache was archived on 19/09/2021 after being found 282 times since it was published on 19/09/2008.
When this new tribute cache was published on 28/03/2022, in keeping with the original cache, it was a magnetic nano which was hidden behind a sign a few metres from the original GZ. Unfortunately, it went missing from that spot three times and was replaced on 19/08/2022 and 24/12/2022 and after being discovered missing again on 18/03/2023, was replaced and relocated a few metres away again and the container size increased to a 15cm long pre-form container. Catch the right day and the views from GZ are (in my opinion) spectactular, as photographed on 26/03/2022 when the cache was originally placed per photo below.
