ENGLISH

Whilst you're looking for this Cache enjoy the views out to sea and hopefully if it's a clear day you can see Gibralter and Africa, sometimes you can spot Dolphins jumping out of the sea and sometimes, depending on the time of day you can see Fish close to the shore feeding around the rocks. When you're done why not visit Sinbad's for a refreshing drink or some food? https://simbadrestaurante.com

Please place the cache exactly how it was found.

The Torre Lance de las Cañas can be accessed from the N-340, just at the change of direction of Las Chapas, take Avda. de Cartajena in the direction of the beach, and just at the end and at the foot of the beach is the tower, the most unique in  Marbella  due to its shape.

Lance de las Cañas Tower was built in the second half of the 18th century to house artillery.

It is a hoof-shaped tower (horseshoe plant). Extended half-circle plant with two oblique spurs or hornworks on the back. Its perimeter is 53.35 meters and its height is greater than 10 meters.

The interior of the Torre Lance de las Cañas has two floors, increasing the surface of them as you go up, at the same time that the thickness of the exterior walls decreases. The lower floor or basement would constitute the "Santa Bárbara" (at exterior ground level). The upper floor or main chamber is well lit by two windows and covered, like the basement, with a brick vault; All the necessary services (cupboard, fireplace) are lined up on the north wall. Finally, a spacious roof terrace, surrounded by a parapet and with a hole for the smoke outlet. Two flights of stairs connect the different chambers and the roof terrace. The access to the tower is six meters from the ground, located on the eastern side of the right jetty.

Its factory is masonry complemented with the use of brick in various elements such as: corners, jambs and lintels, loopholes, parapet moldings and vaults and interior walls.

Hornabeque : Exterior fortification that is made up of two half bastions joined with a curtain. It serves the same purpose as the pincers, but it is stronger, for defending each other's flanks, their faces and the curtain.

Parapet : Low wall or fence made of stone or other material that is placed on bridges and in other places to protect against falls.

Its factory is masonry complemented with the use of brick in various elements such as: corners, jambs and lintels, loopholes, parapets and vaults and interior walls.

Hornabeque: Exterior fortification made up of two half-bastions joined by a curtain. It is used for the same as the pincers, but it is stronger, to defend the flanks, the face and the curtain.

Parapet : A low or fence wall of stone or other material placed on bridges and other places to protect against falls.
