The cache is near the turnoff to Big Bend Reserve, there currently are no signposts and the turn is easy to miss.
This area is about 30 km out of Charters Towers but was once described as
' ... a thousand miles from civilisation....'
To get to the reserve go further north along this gravel track past the turnoff, which is suited to high clearance vehicles.
This area is has no facilites, but provides access to the Burdekin River for swimming, fishing and making TV shows.
The cache is a replica ammo tin and a different style of log book and pen.
The water bottle contains some swaps that may help you this far from civilisation.
