Geocache Description:

Port Sunlight is a model village located between Lower Bebington and New Ferry, on the Wirral. It was built by Lever Brothers to accommodate workers in its soap factory and derived its name from Lever Brothers' most popular brand of cleaning agent, Sunlight. It contains 900 Grade II listed buildings, and was declared a conservation area in 1978.

In the past there used to be a railway line that lead down from the factory to the River Mersey. This is now a footpath and cycleway. It is known as the “secret path” as the start is hidden away in the corner of the courtyard behind the Gladstone Theatre. The early stages are between the current railway and Unilever factory, but further down it becomes more rural where you can see a wide selection of wildlife.
