It's Spring CITO season!
This year, our friends at the Anchorage Parks & Rec and Anchorage Waterways Council asked if we would be interested in helping to Scoop The Poop. Since so many cachers have our geo-pups to tag along on adventures with us, this felt like a great CITO to make sure our dog's have clean places to play as well.
About Scoop The Poop:
When the snow recedes in April, dog poop from the fall and winter emerge along trails and in dog parks. While EVERY day is a Scoop the Poop Day, local pet owners and creek lovers descend on these areas to clean up as much as they can. When the snow melts, it runs off into storm drains and eventually into local creeks. The more that can be claimed before entering the stormwater system, the more is kept out of creeks and lakes. In 2021, Scoop the Poop Day was a great success! - Anchorage Waterways Council
Join us at University Lake where we'll have bags, gloves, and plenty of hand sanitizer to help clean the park and keep our waters safe. The event is scheduled for 3 hours, but you only need to come out for one!
Attendees will also earn the Geocaching CITO Season 1 Souvenir for their profile.
