The YMCA building has a nice history, originally being the high school in the early 1900s (until the new school building was opened). The Y used to offer classes such as Taikwondo, a gym, soccer, and much more. Due to funding however, they had to close down. It's also the center of an annual event called "William Station Day", celebrating the founding of Atmore due to William Station along the Railroad tracks over on HWY 31.
