This event is set to thank the Northamptonshire Geocachers for helping to plant the avenue of cherry trees in Daventry Country Park. This activity was carried out with Daventry & District Scouts. The avenue of trees was planted as part of the Queen's Green Canopy Project to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee.
The official opening of the avenue of trees will take place on St George's Day, 23 April 2022. The ribbon will officially be cut by the Deputy Mayor Of Daventry at 1pm. There will also be a plaque identifying who each of the trees belong to. Daventry & District Scouts have donated a tree to the Northamptonshire Geocachers. Against this name, and to say a further thank you, on this plaque there will be a trackable code for all geocachers to log, who are visiting the Country Park in the future (thank you to Roan65 for giving me the idea).
After the official opening, the Scouts will continue to parade within the Country Park and will assemble to renew their promises.
Refreshments will be available.....there may even be some cherry bake wells too!
Looking forward to seeing you all on the day.
