This cache is placed in the rocks close to the top of Jebel Yanas. It is a blue ‘money tin’ and should stand the test of time better than a plastic container. There are many items in the container, including four travel bugs who start or continue their journeys from this cache. The cache is off the marked trail and is placed between the rocks and covered by other smaller rocks. The key for the ‘money tin’ is attached to the handle with zip ties.
Despite having lived in the United Arab Emirates since 2006, I had not heard of Jebel Yanas until this recent trip to the Northern Emirates. What you will need to do to find the cache is aim for the top of Jebel Yanas and then follow the GPS coordinates until you reach as close to the cache site as you can. You are able to park your car – you will definitely require a 4X4 vehicle – and then walk along the marked trail for around eight minutes. Follow the marked GPS coordinates and you should find the cache with no hassles, and you should be alone on the trail given that it is fairly remote.
