Geocache Description:

In 2010 Chorus began a cabinet art initiative to try and reduce vandalism to their telecommunications cabinets. It has proved so successful it has been extended throughout NZ and showcases some stunning artwork by local artists. Some of this art can be seen in Kiwimykl's excellent CCA series in Marlborough and which this series will unashameably copy.

Kiwifruit are a very popular fruit in New Zealand and are available in a few different varieties.  Originally known as Chinese Gooseberry the name was changed in the late 1950's as a marketing strategy.

They were introduced in the ealy 1900's and have grown to be one of our main export crops.

The original green varieties have quite a furry skin while the gold and ruby ones have a much smoother skin. There is also a miniature variety which is seen less often.

This artwork is by Mark Haldane and is on Tasman St near Nelson St.

To find the cache you need to project the posted coordinates for 192 metres at 7 degrees.
