A jug is a large deep serving container made of plastic, metal, glass or earthware, with an opening, sometimes with a lip, and a handle or ear and is used to transport or hold fluids. They can also be called pitchers or ewers. An empty jug can also be used as a musical instrument by blowing air across the opening. The origin of the word is from the 14th century possibly Middle English. There are many different types of jugs. In some countries, a jug is a container filled with about a litre of beer. Hopefully getting this cache won't make you end up in the jug (slang for jail).
