THIS IS A CHALLENGE CACHE

The cache is at the posted location, but as with all challenge caches, you must meet specific requirements to log this cache as a find. You are welcome to sign the physical log at any time; however, unless you meet the requirements, simply document your log as a note.  Once the requirements are achieved then log this cache as a find.

I like collecting and tracking my finds in counties as I geocache….As a Presidential historian, I’ve noticed just about all states have counties (or parishes) named after the Presidents.  George Washington has the most (32 Washington Counties including the District of Columbia), followed by Thomas Jefferson (26 Jefferson Counties),  and then Abraham Lincoln in third place with (24 Lincoln Counties).  Of course, the newer Presidents have very few counties named after them; however, there are some outliers like Clinton County that is found in 9 states which was named for somebody else named Clinton (possibly DeWitt Clinton of New York.) Those outliers will generally count toward this challenge. There are no US counties for the following Presidents: Taft, Coolidge, Hoover, Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Nixon, both of the Bushes, Obama, Trump, or Biden. (There is a Kenedy County, Texas but it won’t count because the spelling is different.)

To qualify for logging this cache as a find, you must have found a geocache in 15 different counties that share a name with the last name of at least 15 presidents. There are some duplicate names ( Adams, Harrison, Johnson, Roosevelt ) but you only get credit for one of each. Grover Cleveland was president two different non-consecutive times, but you can only get credit for him once.
