The Stanley Trail
The southern part of the trail closely follows the Boundary Commission Trail. Big prairie skyscapes, shale cliffs, wild flowers, abundant wildlife, open grassland, rich agricultural lands, rolling hills, wandering creek crossings, oak stands, poplar bush and dramatic views of the Red River Valley all promise to delight trail users. The most technically challenging and scenic sections are where the trail follows the wooded creeks along the Pembina escarpment.
The Stanley Trail is that portion of the Trans Canada or Great Trail connected through the RM of Stanley. The main trail also has spur trails and loops that are connected or in the proximity of the main trail. The trail is maintained by the Stanley Trail Association.
