Money was gifted to buy land and establish a public park, resulting in Polson park being formally handed to the Burgh of Tranent in1911 . The tennis courts and bowling green and pavillion were opened in1931 along with a football pitch, childrens play area and general landscaping. In recent years East Lothian council invested significantly in a new Bowling Pavillion and refurbished the bowling green and provided new play areas forchildren. The tennis courts were refurbished in 2015, more work is in the pipe line along with a garden of remembrance.
