The listed 'placed date' of this cache is when I submitted for publishing. I had placed it more than 4 years ago and never got around to submitting for publishing. I revisited it last month to find it in excellent condition. And found by several people, both general public and one geocacher, so it must be an ok location.
Here you'll find what I call a logger's Easter egg, an interesting or funny item placed by the loggers for what I suspect was later discovery by others. I've seen several, most like this one. One was an entire tree turned upside down with the roots about 40' feet in the air.
The cache is not at the item, nor it's close buddies. That's where you might be first drawn. I wanted to place at the Easter egg but determined that was not the best place to locate a cache, you'll see why. The hidding spot is much closer to the trail. It's of the same type of item, but smaller. And normal.
