We created this cache based on a couple things – we had family dinner here one night and talked to the waitress we had about putting a cache in the parking lot – plus the song “Fancy Like” by Walker Hayes was playing as we pulled in and parked….if you don’t know the song it goes like this:
Yeah, we fancy like Applebee's on a date night
Got that Bourbon Street steak with the Oreo shake
Get some whipped cream on the top too
Two straws, one check, girl, I got you
Bougie like Natty in the styrofoam
Squeak-squeakin' in the truck bed all the way home
Some Alabama-jamma, she my Dixieland delight (ayy)
That's how we do, how we do, fancy like, oh
Applebee’s Backstory:
Founders Bill and T.J. Palmer looked for inspiration in a phone book and fell in love with the name "Appleby." After finding there was already a copyright on the name, they changed it to "Applebee's."
The Palmers opened the first Applebee's in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1980. Applebee's spread across the country and opened 100 locations before the end of the decade. By 1998, they had 1,000 restaurants. The world's largest Applebee's sits just north of Times Square in New York City. It may be a whopping 3 stories high, which is about 40 feet, but you can get the same deals as you would at a normal-sized 'Bee's.
Applebee's and IHOP are both owned by Dine Brands Global.
If you didn’t know – now you know!
Happy caching 😊
