The offical name of what locals call Opera Ballet is Ayni Opera and Ballet Theatre, also known as Таджикский государственный академический театр оперы и балета имени Садриддина Айни. Wow, that's a mouthful! Site of countless lip-synced music videos, nightly television B-roll footage, and a number of musical performances, dances and even magic shows (see them all here: http://operabalet.tj), the Opera Bellet theatre and park is a happening place. And the fountains in front are a year-round draw for couples, kids and those just passing time. Come grab an ice cream, walk the area, and enjoy the scenery. And good luck grabbing this tiny geocache.
