At low tide from near this cache you can see the wreck of the S.S Cretewheel on the rocks off the church point. Cretewheel was one of a series of concrete tugboats built in WW1 due to a shortage of steel and sank after going aground off Newbiggin on 11/11/1920 whilst travelling North to Amble.
Look out to see from the high ground next to the church to view the wreck.
The cache is on a public footpath in a safe place and is accessible at all times.
