In 2010 Chorus began a cabinet art initiative to try and reduce vandalism to their telecommunications cabinets. It has proved so successful it has been extended throughout NZ and showcases some stunning artwork by local artists. Some of this art can be seen in Kiwimykl's excellent CCA series in Marlborough and on which this series is based.
Buzzy Bee is a New Zealand icon and a toy that generations of kids have enjoyed since it's release in the 1940's. It makes a clicking noise and the wings rotate as it is pulled along.
It has featured in museums, on postage stamps, in books, paintings, posters, songs and in a television show.
Many will remember the photos of Prince William as a toddler playing with Buzzy Bee on the lawn at Government House in Auckland in 1983.

This is another piece of artwork from Mark Haldane and is on Preston Road near Steer Avenue.
