Frogs are amphibians known for their jumping abilities, bulging eyes and slimy skin. They also have a very unique croaking sound. They live all over the world around bodies of fresh water as they need them to reproduce. Frogs eat any living thing that fits in their mouths. Fossils of frogs have been found dating back to 265 million years ago. Their slimy skin produce secretions that range from distasteful to toxic. Frogs can, during extreme conditions, enter a state of dormancy called a Torpor and remain inactive for months buried underground. My frogs are on the threatened or endangered lists. Frogs have been featured in religion, folklore and popular culture.
