The H.R. Frink Conservation Area has hiking trails on the north side and south side of Thrasher Road for a total of 12 km of trails. The north side of the area contains an education centre where outdoor education programs are delivered by local school boards as well as Quinte Conservation. The north side features a network of forested trails leading visitors along the Moira River, around a silver maple swamp, through a mature hardwood forest, and to Parks Creek. The south side of the area contains several more kilometres of trails, including the popular Wetland Ecology Boardwalk. A graveled trail can be found leading from the parking lot to the wetland boardwalk for ease of access throughout the year.
The Frink Centre is pet friendly but dogs must remain on the a leash. Hiking, birding and photography are great activities here. Public portable washrooms are available at entrance. There are color coded tree markers and signage throughout the trails but the map is in the cache images if needed. There is also a Tree Guide on the website you can print for added fun and learning along the way!
There is a $5.30 fee to park at the H.R. Frink Conservation Area.
Caches may require a minor bush wack where possible thorns may be present. Also during the spring thaw, the trails are known to be muddy and wet so dress accordingly. At the time of the hide I could not see any poisonous vegetation but always be aware of your surroundings and as always, do a tick check when you are done.
