**Cache is placed with permission of the motel owner. 
This cache is part of the “GF125 Geocoin Challenge!” Find all 18 caches, fill in the code words on your “passport” and turn it in to the Grand Forks Visitor Centre for a trackable geocoin! Passports are available at the Grand Forks Visitor Centre,  or here: https://discovergrandforks.ca/geocoin2022/

As always when out in the forests (as some caches will be placed on trails) please watch for wild animals such as Bears, Snakes, and Cougars.

Golden Heights (across the highway) was built in 1898 for Dr. George Averill for the cost of $6000. All the lumber and building supplies was brought in by pack train from Spokane WA. There were many loads of finnished timber and highly ornate doors with personalized bronze doorknobs, seven stained glass windows, and many other luxury fittings. Avrerill's wife Flora (who was 20 years younger than her husband) loved to entertain and this was her dream mansion.
