BEAUTY IN DECAY
This is the eighty-eighth geocache in the “Beauty In Decay” series, which highlights abandoned objects that once had purpose and now take on a different life, left to ruin and decay in their current surroundings.

There are several WWII war bunkers dotted around Ringstead. This one, located at Spring Bottom was bricked and boarded up only a few years ago but the land it occupies is fascinating, none-the-less.
This cache is not your simple turn up and grab the cache. In fact, spotting the cache, which is located on the ground, is the easy part, but retrieval to sign the log will require patience and a plan, which shouldn't be too hard to work out on arrival.
You will need to come prepared, hence the special tools attribute. An empty container that holds 3-4 litres should be suffice. A filled up container would be even better, but who wants to be carrying a heavy container when there is a spring nearby (see reference point).
This cache is best achieved with a circular walk, starting and ending at Osmington Mills (see parking waypoint). If you choose this option then you will enjoy 3km of breathtaking views. There are a few stiles and kissing gates to negotiate, all of which are easy enough with a dog, and the area around the cache can get boggy and overgrown, so suitable footwear is advised.
