This is a quick park and grab or you can linger and watch the boat traffic and the fishermen.
Watch out for muggles, they are here usually here later in the day and of course on weekends.

The tug boats and six barges lock through Old Hickory dam at least once if not twice a day. At time of placement of cache, the Martha Denton and David K Wilson were the two tugboats taking tows of 6 barges of coal and sand up to the Gallatin steam plant, and of course returning with the empties.
In this area there is a committee of vultures, who perch on a high tension power transmission pylon, herons who love to fish for the stunned fish as they pass through the spillways, an abundance of deer and wildlife. There is a boat launch ramp to put in fishing boats below the dam. It is an interesting and diverse area to visit. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
