Male indigo buntings are bright blue birds related to cardinals. The females are plainer. Normal indigo buntings build stick nests in branches, but this one is roosting more out of the weather in a log lower than birds tend to roost.
Cache is in Freedom Memorial Park in Millersville which is open 7am to sunset. More park info at http://millersvilleborough.org/departments/freedom-memorial-park/
Over the years, some of the scouts in my Scouts BSA Troop 88 have placed bird boxes here as part of their Eagle Scout service projects. Indigo buntings don't use bird boxes. Please don't disturb the bird boxes.
Park near Pavilion C and take a short walk on a little trail through the woods. Cache is very near the trail and not as far in as the previous hide. The location should be clear of poison ivy.
Container is a blue bird connected to a bison tube and nestled inside a fallen log.
