Geocache Description:

A series that will not only introduce you to some of the dog parks around the mornington peninsula but we will also be sharing some fun facts and information about a different breed of dog for every cache in the series! Although they are numbered they don't have to be done in order. We have also got our resident experts, Ebony (Gnome5580s geodog!) And Calypso (Beckgizs geodog!) Who will be giving each dog park a score of 1 to 5 paws depending on how much they approve of this park! 🐶 we hope you enjoy this series as much as Ebony and Calypso had testing each of these parks out 😉 and on that note here is their opinion of this park:

RED HILL RECREATION RESERVE:

This large recreation reserve isn't exactly what you would call a dog park but you are allowed to run your dogs around on the back oval if it's not in use of course! Also please take extra care to pick up after your dog! This oval is being shared by many other people! This reserve is home to several different ovals, club houses, tennis courts and is also the home of the annual Red Hill show! Of course there are also toilets, water and seating but we'll only give this park a 3 out of 5 paws due to it not being a true dog park. This cache has a slight twist which will be described in the cache description section after we've introduced the dog that we've chosen for this cache which we have picked due to how Incredibly rare and unique it is...

Tibetan Mastiff:

Tibetan mastiff is a large size Tibetan dog breed. Its double coat is medium to long, subject to climate, and found in a wide variety of colors, including solid black, black and tan, various shades of red and bluish-gray, and sometimes with white markings around neck, chest and legs.

Life span: 12 – 15 years

Height: Male: 66–76 cm, Female: 61–71 cm

Weight: Male: 41–68 kg, Female: 34–54 kg

Temperament: Stubborn, Tenacious, Aloof, Intelligent, Strong Willed, Protective

The Tibetan Mastiff is sometimes called the "Tibetan Lion Mastiff" possibly due to the claim that the Tibetan Mastiff has actually been bred with lion DNA which has also been said to be why they are so expensive. In fact at approximately 2 million dollars a puppy they are definitely by far one of the most expensive dog breeds on the planet. This breed is officially classified as the most expensive breed after a man spent 15 million dollars on a golden 1 year old Tibetan Mastiff which is in the records as the most amount of money spent on any dog breed on the planet! While it's most likely that they are not actually bred with the DNA of lions they most likely get their name from their huge mane like fur around their head and neck which, paired with their size give them a distinctly lion like appearance.

The Cache:

This cache (as the name suggests!) Is slightly different to other dogs tail caches, you are searching for a 3D printed camouflaged tube that has a bit of a sneaky secret! This tube is a labyrinth tube! So to get to the log inside first you have to beat the labyrinth! This is classified as a medium difficulty puzzle which might be very easy for some and very hard for others but unless you actually sign the log you haven't completed finding this cache and I will be checking on it regularly and deleting any logs that haven't got a name on the log sheet! This is a part of the fun of this cache so hopefully you enjoy this dogs tail with a twist! BYO pen and of course remember to use stealth, there will be times when this area will be very busy so I would not recommend doing this cache then! Good luck and happy hunting! 🤠
