You would not believe the trouble I had placing this cache!!! When I was driving over to place it, I heard over my police scanner that some of the animals at the Richfield Zoo had escaped! I didn't want that to deter me so I 'bravely' kept driving. A gorilla jumped in front of my car just as I past the library - I slammed on the brakes just in time!
Thank goodness all the kids at Ashman Elementary were inside because there were baboons playing all over their playground equipment! I am NOT a fan of any kind of monkey...
The high school football field looked like the plains of Africa - zebras, gazelles, and wildebeests grazing (and pooping) all over it... someone's going to have fun cleaning that up.
I finally got to ground zero, parked the car, and got out. That's when I saw the lion, tiger, and bear. Fortunately they seemed distracted by some peacocks having a strutting contest. I hurried and placed the cache, got poked by a thorn, and accidentally yelled "OUCH" (ok it was a different 4 letter word, but I'm trying to keep it clean for the kids). The carnivores started heading my way! I did one of those awesome run and skid across the hood of my car and got inside just in time!
I do think the tiger scratched my car a bit on the bumper (but that could have been from the last geocaching trip...) Anyways, right after I got in my car, I heard an ice cream truck in the distance. It caught the attention of the animals and they headed toward the music (because as we all know, lions, tigers, and bears all like ice cream.) Little did they know, it was a clever trap - the zookeepers caged them up when they got close enough. They were able to get almost all the animals back to the zoo and most of the town escaped unscathed! So be careful when you try to retrieve this cache, just in case there's any more animals loose! I'll increase the D/T a bit just to cover my bases - I mean, if you run into an escaped butterfly, I'm not too worried about you, but if it's a spitting alpaca and you have to climb a tree to escape??!!?? That would be bad! I'd love to hear your stories in the logs if you have any encounters!
[Everything above was a LIE ha ha! Feel free to embellish your log if you so choose. May be hard to avoid muggles on Sundays. There is some room for small trackables and swag]
