In late March, 2022, Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters fame died unexpectedly. He was only 50. An amazing drummer who was humble and extremely likeable. Down to earth, caring and with an irrepressible spirit, he exuded joy from every pore. He had a very cool connection with his "brother from another mother" and best friend, Dave Grohl. These guys were special.
Taylor also sang lead from time to time in Foo Fighters' concerts and often they were songs by Queen. Queen's drummer, Roger Taylor, was like a mentor to Taylor Hawkins who in turn was a mentor to Roger's son, Rufus.
People in the music industry say he was hardworking, generous, talented and cheerful. What a loss for family, friends and fans. He had 25 years in the Foo Fighters having previously played drums for Alanis Morrisette on her "Jagged Little Pill" tour.
Taylor loved the outdoors, especially mountainbiking to clear his head or for thinking time. He was a dad to a son and 2 daughters when he passed away. He would probably have liked geocaching if he knew about it, I think!
One cool dude gone too soon.
Cache placed to remember him, his family, friends and fans all over the world.
