Dobrodošli v Majdičevem logu!
Spoznajte zgodovino prostora pod Kranjem, ki je bil nekoč naplavina reke Save, kasneje je prostor služil potrebam grajskega mlina, enega izmed največjih vodnih mlinov v stari Avstriji in eni izmed prvih elektratn na območju Slovenije.
Družina Majdič od srede19. stoletja do povojne nacionalizacije je log spremenila v vzorno urejeno zeleno površino z lično parkovno, hortikulturno in sprostitveno ureditvijo, s teniškim igriščem, čolnarno, paviljoni, pergolami, klopmi, drevoredi, potmi, gospodarskimi objekti ter smiselno in nemoteče umeščenim energetskim obratom, ki je bil temelj razvoja industrije od Kranja do Medvod. Po naconalizaciji je Majdičev log postal prostor za sejemske in zabavne prireditve, za trgovino, gostinstvo, šport in oddih.
Z letom 2020 se piše nova zgodba. Odprta sta most, ki povezuje Majdičev log z mestnim središčem ter pot za pešce in kolesarje, ki nas povezuje tudi s preostalimi zelenimi in obvodnimi površinami. Ob poti je zapisana večplastna zgodovina tega prostora.

Welcome to the Majdič Grove!
Come and get to know the history of the area below the city of Kranj, built on the sediments that were brought here by the Sava River. A mill that belonged to the castle above once stood here, one of the largest water mills in the old Austrian empire and one of the first power plants in Slovenia.
In the time between the middle of the 19th century and the nationalization after WW2, the Majdič family transformed the grove into an elegant green area with a beautiful park, horticultural features and areas for relaxation such as a tennis court, a boathouse, pavilions, pergolas, benches, tree-lined lanes, paths, farm buildings and a power plant was placed here in such reasonable way that it did not disturb the park as it became the basis for the industrial develompent from Kranj to Medvode.
After the Majdič Grove was nationalised, it became a place for fairs and entertainment, for trade, restaurants and bars, sports and leisure.
In 2020, a new strory started to develop. The bridge connecting the Majdič Grove with the city centre was opened, and a walking and a cycling path were added, as a connection to other green areas at the close to water. Along the way, the multilayered history of this area is being written down.
