Reach For The Top is a long running Canadian television academic quiz show for high school students. It was first shown on a local Vancouver station CBUT-TV in 1961, and regional shows soon appeared across the country. The first national championships including regional winners took place in 1965, and it became a CBC production in 1966. Alex Trebek began his game show hosting career with Reach For The Top in Toronto in that same year. The show ran on CBC until 1985 and has continued on private television stations and YouTube.
This short series of caches is based on Canadian television shows of my childhood. They were watched in black and white on the one TV channel (CKBI Channel 4) that we received.
