Geocache Description:

19 June 2022, 15:00 - 17:00

There have been many great Jacks in history.  There was Jack Kerouac, who wrote books or something.  There was Jack Nicholson, who was great at checking the sharpness of axes and the weakness of doors.  Jack Nicklaus was good at hitting things with clubs.  Jack Dempsey was good at punching people and Jack Lemmon liked cameras and Jack London also wrote books or something and there was that little kid Jack who had a thing for beanstalks.

But I'm sure we can all agree that no Jack has been as great as Jack the Bear

Jack came from Ohio in an old beat up Subaru station wagon and has spent the last year winning hearts and/or getting geocachers to completely avoid eye contact with us as everyone's favorite ridiculously large trackable.  He's had a slew of adventures, from webcams in Michigan to surviving Revolutionary War soldiers in New Brunswick, from picnicking in Jersey to summiting Mount Washington in New Hampshire, from surviving subzero temperatures at the shore to admiring the rocky shores of Maine.  He even survived a night in a multi-time murder capital of the USA.  Jack has traveled with us through 12 states (sadly, he only visted caches in 11 of them... sorry Connecticutt), and we've loved having him hibernate in the Lego closet.

But all good things must come to an end.  So on June 19th, we will be saying goodbye to our friend Jack before he heads back to Ohio.  Might as well send him off in style.  We'll have burgers, hot dogs, and rolls and will fire the grill up.  Folks should bring their own drinks and something to share.

Please feel free to bring a chair if you'd like, or we have a wide variety of tree stumps that can be used for sitting!  Kids are welcome (have a yard for them to run around with and my own kids for them to run around with).  Doggos are welcome.  People obsessed with finding small bison tubes in pine trees are welcome.

Streetside parking available along the same side of the street as the event or on the street the makes a "T" intersection.  Please do not park directly across the street on my neighbor's lawn (look for the red reflector sticks, which are there to keep people from parking there), anywhere else along the street is fine.
