West Midlands 2022
Abandoned Crossing
When the railway came through here in 1848 they built many of these up-and-over bridges and level crossings for the farmers to continue to use their land. Live stock would have gone under while tall vehicles went over, until the golf club took over the land beyond and farm traffic became rarer.
Trains will toot when approaching this and the other level crossings along this line. Please don't explore this one too closely - you'll get better chances later on.

This geocaching trail was laid in conjunction with the landowners along the route, the local councils, the "Transforming the Trent Valley" organisation, and the West Midlands Mega Crew. It was placed by the SOS group of Staffordshire Cachers.
