Mole Creek is a small community in the upper Mersey Valley, west of Deloraine. Today it is best known for the karst landscape, in particular the King Solomon and Marakoopa Caves, and honey production. However the area has a long and rich history.
The connection of Aboriginal people with the Mole Creek area is thought to date back more than 10,000 years, and the Pallittorre band of the North tribe was based in the area. European settlement dates back to about 1830 with primary industry being the main activity of the settlers.
The Adventure Lab focusses on the early years of European settlement which is celebrated by displays along Pioneer Drive, the main street of Mole Creek. On completion of the five locations, you will have collected sufficient information to determine the coordinates for this Bonus Cache.
