Koulurakennus valmistui alunperin vuonna 1959. Sittemmin sitä on remontoitu pariinkin otteeseen. Vuonna 2021 valmistui uudisosa ja vanhan koulun pääosa purettiin kokonaan. Koulussa toimii nykyään perusopetuksen luokat 6.-9. sekä Kankaanpään lukion Honkajoen oppilaitos.Lukion opiskelijoista suurin osa tulee naapurikunnista. Kätkön tekijä on toiminut oppilaitoksen rehtorina vuosina 2010-2013.

The school building was originally completed in 1959. Since then, it has been renovated a couple of times. In 2021, the new part was completed and the old wing was completely dismantled. The school currently has basic education classes 6-9. and Honkajoki School of Kankaanpää High School. Most of the high school students come from neighboring municipalities.
