Geocache Description:

Perched prominently at the intersection of several fire roads, hiking paths, and near legendary mountain bike trails, these barrels were used to store water to protect the UCSC campus from wildfire.  The area now has pressurized water pipes and hydrants, so the tanks have taken on a new life as a constantly changing canvas for artists.  The fine folks at MTBR have collected over 20 years of photos here:  https://www.mtbr.com/threads/photos-ucsc-tanks-artwork.1169715/

The cache is a 1 quart container, and it does not require climbing onto the barrels.

I encourage you to post a picture of the current art on the barrels with your log entry.  It changes a lot, and having point-in-time photos is kind of neat.
