Welcome to Olana! If you’re unfamiliar with the grounds, a park map can be found at https://www.olana.org/park-map/
For park fees, directions, maps and park updates, download the New York State Explorer App to your mobile device from the Apple and Google Play stores.
Olana was the home and studio of artist Frederic Edwin Church (1826–1900), who was one of the major figures in the Hudson River School of landscape painting. Here you’ll find the centerpiece mansion which overlooks parkland and a working farm designed by the artist. The residence has a wide view of the Hudson River Valley, the Catskill Mountains and the Taconic Range.
Note that many of the cache descriptions for this years challenge were borrowed from the text accompanying the Olana coloring book which can be found at: https://www.olana.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Olana_ColoringBook.pdf
