Chengdong Park is located in the eastern part of the main urban area of Duanzhou District, Zhaoqing City, hence the park's name. It was built in 1995 and has remained the largest public green space and play area in the neighbourhood ever since.
Since its opening, the park has undergone several renovations, with more and more play facilities for children in the south-eastern part of the park, and sports areas such as basketball and table tennis courts in the north-eastern part. In the rest of the park, a number of large and small lawns remain.
In the centre of the park is a rockery that has been there for over twenty years. During my childhood, my friends and I used to climb to the top of the rockery from different directions. For safety reasons, this rockery is now forbidden to be climbed (so did it then of course).
