Cache is placed for the 10 year 2022 Waukesha Road Rally.
Must access from the Glacial Drumlin Trail. The shortest route is from Sunset Park. Bicyclists will need to purchase a trail pass. There is no fee for walkers. DNR permission form sent.
This cache site was used in the 2018 Road Rally IV if you chose the Hare option instead of the Tortoise. I always thought it was so odd to walk along the GDT and see this in the woods and it was begging for the cache The Hare had to be archived as the new bypass destroyed the final hide location, but the waypoint marker remains (don't follow it though, it leads to nothing). A 2001 Birthday Cache oldie is nearby the cache and is well worth grabbing if you haven't already. The Tortoise multi is also still in play and is my largest cache - thanks to John Pleva.
Also of note nearby here is the private driveway for the Waukesha Pebble Creek Flyers Club. Occasionally you'll see radio controlled airplanes to the north.
I was thinking of Steinbeck's Of Mice & Men when I hid the cache: Lenny - "An' have rabbits. Go on, George! Tell about what we're gonna have in the garden and about the rabbits in the cages and about the rain in the winter and the stove, and how thick the cream is on the milk like you can hardly cut it. Tell about that, George."
