Cuppa by the Cairn

The area
Mount Juliet is one of the higher peaks of the Yarra Ranges. On its summit is a large dry-stone cairn, built in the mid-1800s for geodetic triangulation. The steep walking track to the summit of Mount Juliet has been popular with walkers for over a hundred years. With an elevation gain of over 900 metres, this track presents one of the toughest hikes in the greater Melbourne region.
