While in Thallon be sure to stop and check out the Giant Northern Hairy-Nosed wombat statue located in the park and visible from this geocache location. Children (and adults) will enjoy climbing on the statue and learning about wombats on the information board located in the park. Try to include a photo of your group, on or near the statue, when logging. In the 1800s the hairy-nosed wombats were to be found in this region and the local Indigenous people called them "Yaminon". Sadly, they have disappeared from the region due to land clearing, habitat degredation and feed competition with introduced stock. Have a walk around the park.
