Makaʻeo is the name of this area. It consists of many different types of recreational activities as a recreational park. Itʻs popular name, "OLD AIRPORT" derives from itʻs literal usage as an airport that stopped operating in 1970 and became a recreational park in 1976. Please see the link here for more info. Best to go during daylight hours as the terrain is a sand trail as depicted. Please do not move any rocks, it is not hidden in the rocks. Pen frequently goes missing, bring your own just in case.
