Welcome to the beginning or the end of the Tepusquet Road Series. Hidden in the picturesque back country of the Santa Maria Valley I hope you will or have enjoyed the drive.
Since starting my career as a geocacher I've noticed there are a lot of AeroMotors about. This being one of them, they represent one of a handfull of truely green sources of energy. When you consider what little goes into producing one of these, their carbon footprint is tough to beat. Especially if it's made from wood. However, most of what you'll find scattered over the country side are galvanized steel construction.

The word tepusque is a derivative from Nahuatl of southern Mexico. It means "copper coin". But due to a map maker's misspelling, it became known as tepusquet, but it is still pronounced without the 't' at the end. Little is documented about this word and its use as currency in New Spain and I've found no references as to why it was used to name the Mexican land grant that was this area long ago.
