Sudbury railway station served Sudbury, Derbyshire even though we are currently standing in Staffordshire near to Draycott in the Clay. It was opened by the North Staffordshire Railway in 1848 and in 1862 the Great Northern Railway started using it for trains between Stafford and Grantham. It was closed on 7 November 1966 and the platforms have been removed since, but the railway cottages and signal box are still in use.
