Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a series of caches which are placed at or near village halls and community centres. For details and statistics visit the Village Hall Series website Click here

The Village Hall
St. Blazey is a small town situated in the valley of Kilhallon, a very attractive parish with a close community and with a lot of local history. The hall is situated in the heart of St. Blazey. It was opened and named after Colonel Trevor Alexander, (a person very close to me,) who was a councillor in the area and past Mayor of St Austell. The hall is now used for local town council meetings as well a range of community events.

The Cache
The cache is not at the posted coordinates, but the information you need is. The cache can be walked to in about 5-10 minutes or there may be room for parking for a couple cars at GZ. At the time of writing, this is the only 2.5/4 multi cache in Cornwall! The terrain rating reflects the walk and the terrain needed to access the cache.

For the Northings, you will need to visit the hall, and find the information at the posted coordinates.

The Northings can be found at N50 21.(D-E)(C-E)(A-B)

For the Westings, you will need to walk around the hall.

Standing at the front of the building, how many panes of glass are there? (Excluding the one that reads ALEXANDER HALL.) =F
At the back of the building, you will see four windows, each with brickwork underneath. Count the bricks under any one of these windows and divide the answer by four. =G
At the front of the building there is a brown notice board with four words on the top section. Subtract the number of letters from the first word from the number of letters in the fourth word. =H

The Westings can be found at W004 42.FGH

If you would like to know more about the history of the hall and St. Blazey, a very good reference site can be found at https://www.stblaisetowncouncil.co.uk/history/
