Geocache Description:

The cache is not in the posted coordinates. Solve the puzzle to find the cache.

"The Bunker" in Yehud was the nickname of the past municipal stadium in Yehud, which was the home for the local football club, Hapoel Yehud. Hapoel Yehud spent eight seasons in the top division in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and won the State Cup in 1982.

In those days, Yehud was a small town with 13,000 people, hence its football achievements were considered a big surprise. As an ultimate underdog, Yehud adopted a "Bunker" tactics - a defensive style of game and time waste tactics, in order to achieve a 0-0 draw and sometimes a 1-0 win. 45% of its games ended with a draw result. In those days, a win was just 2 points (today, 3 points), so these draws were enough to keep Yehud in the middle of table and stay 8 seasons in the upper league.

The most notable achievement was the winning of the state cup, exactly 40 years ago, on 19 May, 1982, after winning top Israeli teams, including Maccabi Tel-Aviv, Maccabi Haifa, Beitar Jerusalem and in the final, Hapoel Tel-Aviv. Yehud scored only 7 goals in the 7 cup games, but that was enough with the "bunker" tactics.

Today, high buildings replaced the stadium. A small sign, in the posted coordinates, tells the story of the stadium.

To find the cache, you have to score a goal against the well known Yehud bunker. Follow these rules:

  1. Start in the center.
  2. Pass the ball, each time from the center of one square to the center of an orthogonally adjacent square, until the ball enters into the marked east goal.
  3. Some squares are occupied by Yehud defense players. You have to find their position (marked by black squares, in the example).
  4. Some squares are occupied by referees, marked as grey squares. Each referee looks into a single direction, marked by an arrow. The number of defense players he sees is given. There might be defense players in squares that are not seen by any referee.
  5. Defense players cannot stand in orthogonally adjacent squares to each other (they may stand near referees).
  6. The ball can't pass through a square that is occupied by a defence player or referee. The ball must pass once through each square that is unoccupied by a referee or defence player.
  7. Ignore the white marks, these are for real life games. Ignore standard football rules, such as number of players, which is unknown in the puzzle.

The answer code for the checker is the directions of each straight segment of the path, starting from the center and ending with "E" into the goal. Use N,E,S,W, to indicate the directions. The answer code for the example is: ENENWSWSWNWSENESENE .

Good luck in your game:
