Geocaching event at the historic entrance to North Road Railway station on Saturday, 28th May 2022 at 10.30am for half an hour.
North Road Railway Station opened in 1842 on the 1st April as Darlington, it was the original station on the Stockton and Darlington Railway. It was renamed Darlington North Road in 1868 when the main station was rebuilt on the East Coast Mainline, then North Road in 1934. Nearby Skerne Bridge is the oldest continuous used railway bridge in the world at almost 200 years old. Today the station building is now a railway museum.
At the given coordinates meet the host under the canopy at the station/museum entrance for a geochat and an exchange of Trackables. Post a 'Will Attend' log for any updated notifications. There is car parking at the museum and of corse a functioning railway station.
